Kara Flexman, MS, ACSM-RCEP, NCPT
Kara Flexman received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Benedictine University. Kara is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist. While getting her Master’s degree, she worked at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Health and Fitness Center, where she worked as a personal trainer and as the Team Lead of Personal Training and Pilates. Kara completed her training at Polestar Pilates in Miami, FL and initiated the program in Chicago at Advocate. She is a Nationally Certified Pilates Instructor and is FMS Certified level 1 and 2. After she graduated from Benedictine, she went on to work at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehabilitation department, and has been working there since 2014.
With over 9 years in both rehabilitation and personal training, Kara has had experience working with patients/clients with a variety of different backgrounds and medical conditions. Kara is a lifelong student who has a passion for attending continuing education, with the goal of being an excellent resource for patients. She enjoys working with patients to help them optimize their exercise routine, focusing on making a program that is realistic, enjoyable, and effective.
